Mr Green was a store manager of a famous retail chain. He was an equable leader. He always exhibited equanimity when the sales report showed despondent. He took all the blame upon himself and still maintained tranquillity in leading the staff and the store. The staff felt abject about the vicissitudes of the sales at the store. However, the equanimity of the store manager buoyed the spirit of the salesforce and helped them to moil eerily. Eventually, the staff emerged as a quintessential workforce.
But, the question was how could he turn the despondent state of the store?
Mr Green had studied a lot about how human intelligence works. He had known that the mind functions at its full capacity only when the emotion is not troubled. He was well aware that the brain becomes somewhat disorganized and overwhelmed because of the trauma, while the body goes into survival mode and shuts down the higher reasoning and language structures of the brain. His vivid understanding of the power of human intelligence kept him tranquil and utilised it fully to turn the abject condition of the performance of the store.
The mind can’t feel. The emotion can’t think and reason things out. Mr Green’s cognition helped all the employees to apply equanimity and handle all kinds of roller-coaster states with tranquillity.
Moral: As a leader be calm and let the team be exuberant.
